Latin name: Taraxacum officinale. It is a herbaceous perennial plant high up to 50 sm. The stalk is leaveless, thin and empty. The leaves are gathered together near the ground. The stalk finishes with a big yellow bloom. The plant contains milk juice. It blooms during the spring and the summer. In Bulgaria it grows near grassy and sandy places. It is cold resistant. It can live in temperatures to -29 degrees. The whole plant and the roots are usable. It contains bitter substances, imulines, nautritious and mineral substances, carotine, vitamine C and B2. It treates libber diseases, inflaminations and stones in the kidney. It can help when you are bitten by a snake. The fresh spring leaves can be eaten like a salad and are very healthy.
