Established in 1983 with the aim of preserving the subalpine rock habitation of endemic, rare and endangered species, and unique geomorphological and hydrologic sites. Total area 1,606.9 ha. This the dwelling place for 20 endemic plant species, 13 of which Bulgarian and 13 that can be found in other areas of the Balkans. About 30 water falls of height above 20 m are located here. Exceptionally inaccessible and isolated, a reserve poorly unexplored.
