The village is located 2 km from the Troyan Monastery, close to the Steneto Reserve at the foot of the Colyam Kupen peak (2169 m) and Levski peak (2166 m), Zelenikovets monastery. The village offers picturesque views from the banks of the Cherni Ossam River, small bathing places and river pools for fishing. A number of hiking routes are also organised by local guides, who have gained experience in the unique school for mountain guides. Cherni Ossam is famous for its Natural History Museum, which was opened by a local teacher of biology. The museum holds valuable collections of the regional fauna - over 1200 species of birds, mammals, amphibians, reptiles and insects. Visitors can hear in the attraction hall the song of the nightingale, the roar of a bear, or the howl of the wolf.
