Village of Lomets is situated 13 km far away from town of Troyan. One theory about the origin of the village`s name is that in the past the village has been a place where were being mined stones. There are historical finds pointing that on this place in the past are being mined stones that are being used for building of Roman castles and stations. They were guarding the road passing by Troyan. Most attractive about the village is the recently found Roman Castle Sostra. On the place are found many valuable finds like coins, utensils, memorial stones. The most valuable find is a an ancient Trakian mask which is dated about V-IV century before Christ. The mask is found on pieces and is restored. It is being kept in the National Historical Museum in Sofia.
